Turn fig, it was presented to W.S. Merwin. A good poet, one who makes not blog, and maked I cite that the Pulitzer Award Commission was so uninspired by the general province of verse that they presented the award to a cat who holded already won one back in 1971?
It Holds been a spell since I hold hitted downwardly, caught my large old pes, and jostled it unwaveringly into my mouth by adding a review to my site about the province of poesy, especially verse that can be happened on a blog.
Possibly the verse on my blog is no elision, holds no special dispensation, is not above the affray of the undermentioned criticism. I am a little excessively about it all to determine if it is, or not. You 'll need to add the voice of your ain apprehension to estimate that out... but to me it looks that we poets are not making much to preclude the prostration of whatever resting respect verse might still hold left in that fast paced creation... by posting it to a blog.
This but in: Blog Poets en bloc chance to be responsible a large suction sound!
Permit me be more direct. Blog Poesy Mostly Sucks. Or how approximately this less direct but more diplomatic statement - If we as poets make n't houseclean and boost other poets to post only poesy of the superiority, so `` Real Poesy '' as an art descriptor is doomed...
Folks it Holds all about the attending span, or I should state the deficiency of an attending span. Who holds the friggin clip to work what poets are verily seeking to pen - I cognise that I sometimes make n't...
This simply in: Blog Readers of Poesy bury that the indispensable demand for reading verse is to add a smidge of contemplation!
It does me chafe my caput - my poesy I intend... long meandered, compact metaphors that simply the most impassioned reader even desires to press before and specify or unroll their manner through... so mayhap I am equally irrelevant as the following blog poet; again, that Holds for the reader to determine.
Back to my main point.
It is our duty to halt lie around the verse we are reading - stating poets that they are great, that they are the following Dickinson or whatever, when they clearly are not the following Dickinson.
I surmise that we make this because they hold composed a poem we can promptly understand. Because they hold indited a poem that I am attending should term as `` Poem Lite. ''
This only in: Poet Man does wild and uncorroborated claim that TS Elliot would hold been largely cutted if he holded been a Blogger!
To state a poet how great they are when they are not great demeans both the reader and the poet. To in any manner cause them to conceive that they hold already gotten, that they hold nada more to make is to impede the cause of quality poesy. Likewise, and here is the kicker, if you make so you will be portion of their future acrimonious letdown. Because at some point they are attending desire to see their work in print, so they are attending subject their work to some valued diary for consideration, and when they make, and their work is rejected, they will see a profound disagreement.
This but in: Blog Poets are no more having positive inputs!
That Holds not what I am attempting to propose with this piece... that you should n't post positive remarks... what I am attempting to tell is...
That it is far better to tell cypher. That Holds right, tell cypher - leave no remark when no remark is justified. Conceive of your silence as an indispensable portion of a authors procedure. Delight make this only if the poem in interrogation makes not arise to a commenting juncture, makes not hold that necessary glint, or when you rattlingly make n't understand what the author was assay to indite.
This but in: When it comes to remarking about Blog Poesy, silence is sometimes Gilt!
Your silence will make the author to seek and work what might be losing from the poem. They might find the desired endowment named redaction... and if they make, it will do them better poets... it is far better to hold the experience of silence, than to hold haved an unearned laurels...
Hey, but that Holds but me... and my large old pes speaking... which by the bye is a motley metaphor, and wholly verboten...
